Water-skiing changed Nolan’s life, taking him out of an all-time low to find happiness, purpose, and success.

Just days after being released from the hospital after his spinal cord injury, Nolan was drawn to try water-skiing for the first time, as it was an individual sport that required hard work and perseverance. He met his future coach who saw his potential and believed in him, helping him train to reach his goal of becoming a professional water-ski athlete and a part of the adaptive national team. At this moment, Nolan’s life was forever changed.

He has since climbed his way to the top of the world ranking list, winning numerous medals and tournaments while also shattering the MP/2 slalom ski world record, surpassing the previous score by 36 percent.

Because water-ski made such an impact on his life, Nolan has made it his goal to give back by inspiring others with disabilities to get involved with the sport. To date, he has taken dozens of people with disabilities out skiing for the first time – some of which are on the road to or have made the national team.

“Go For Gold” walks you through this integral part of his journey and how hard work and determination can help you accomplish almost anything you put your mind to.
