“Change the path”

Recommended School Audience: Grades 9-12

Nolan Barnes is a passionate advocate with determination to make a difference by speaking out against impaired driving, speaking to youth about trauma and risk-related events such as drinking and driving and the effects that drugs had on his life. He shares his powerful story to raise awareness, hoping his message will save others from making a mistake that could change their lives.

“If I told 1,000 people my story and one person made a better decision than I did, then everything that happened to me is so worth it.”

In speaking at Student Engagements, Nolan shares his message of how a seemingly small decision can lead to big results and/or consequences. He gives insight into the path he was on before the crash, and how all of his choices resulted in grave consequences. He tells his story of how this life-altering moment inspired him to change his mindset and turn his life around, taking him from the lowest point in his life to the highest point, leading him to become a passionate speaker and world-record-setting athlete.
